YOU Are a Creative!

How Would You Like to Live

a Life of Continual Creativity?

Have you ever said these words . . . "I wish I could draw/paint/sketch like you!"  Or, "I couldn't draw a straight line if my life depended on it." Or, " I don't have a creative bone in my body!"  Well, you're not alone.

I've heard people say those words since I was a child, and I've always disagreed! I've always been convinced that everyone has a creative bent, but if it doesn't receive encouragement & acknowledgement along the way, it just withers.

Yes, I was blessed to have a family that recognized something in me that they considered worthy of honor even as a little girl - my ability to draw.  But what if you're creativity come out in cooking mouth-watering food, gorgeous baked goods, writing beautiful letters, penmanship, mentoring, setting a fabulous table, throwing great parties, amazing gift-wrapping, managing people with wit & humor?  I could go on & on.

Here's the deal . . . we were all created by an endlessly creative God, IN HIS IMAGE.  So, how can we not be creative??  He poured His traits into us, and being original, bold, & able to think outside-the-box is a big part of who He is. Are you an amazing problem-solver?  The person who gets the last-minute phone call to come save the day with your sewing, bouquet-making, car-repairing, handy-man fixing, put your thumb-in-the-dike skills?  Then you're a Creative!

What would it feel like to spend the rest of your life knowing that you have the ability to approach any situation with a continual flow of creative problem-solving skills?  Think of the fun of approaching any blank wall, muddy color palette, chaotic landscape, sticky management issue, or boring wardrobe and KNOW that you have the ability to completely turn it around!

I believe it's possible . . . so, the next time you're confronted with a challenge that you don't feel up to, ask yourself, "Self, what's the most outlandish, joyful, creative way I could resolve this situation?"  Then jump in with both your creative feet, and do it!

Choose the paint color that speaks to you.  Buy the shirt that makes you feel happy.  Create the winding stone path in your yard that leads only to a quiet nook.  Kidnap a loved-one for a "let's pretend we're 10 again date."  Bake the wildest cake you can imagine. You get the idea - now go for it!  I can't wait to hear about what you do!

 With love & admiration,

Jan
